Optical Tacheometer or Total station

Optical Tacheometer or Total stationSemi-electronic tacheometer is a combination of an electronic distance meter (EDM) and an optical scale - reading theodolite which has been consolidated into a single very compact and light-weight unit.

The axis of the infrared light beam and the optical line of sight are in coincidence, thus making possible accurate electronic distance measurements and angular measurements at one pointing of the instrument.

This is the first mass-produced electronic tacheometer with a balanced telescope.

The electronic tacheometer or Total Station is designed for wide-scale topographic surveys during land inventories and revision of the measurements.

The tacheometer may be used for measuring polar and rectangular coordinates, lot-area measuring and horizontal projections.

The results of measuring may be written on memory card or may be transferred to an IBM-compatible personal computer.

Tacheometer (Total Station) is designed for use with a vertical staff for tacheometric surveys and setting-out on construction sites.

Used as a normal theodolite a fully-fledged direct scale-reading instrument, with the normal stadium lines however, being replaced by very flat curves projected into the field of view.
